Saba Yousefi
Saba Yousefi (Violin)
Saba Yousefi is a violinist and pedagogue based in Toronto. She has received both her Master of Violin Performance and Bachelor of Violin Performance with a minor in Philosophy from the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto. Saba started playing violin at the age of seven in Tehran,Iran, where she received the first prize in classical music competitions for solo and chamber music. She has studied with Khachik Babayan, Jaques Israelievitch, Erika Raum, and Mark Fewer, among others. Saba is also the recipient of the University of Toronto Graduate Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Saba is an active performer, having performed both as a solo and chamber musician around Canada, the Middle East, and China. She is member of the Ontario Philharmonic orchestra.
A dedicated and passionate music teacher, Saba believes in the power of music to flourish creativity, self-esteem, and for brain development. She teaches beginner to advanced students of all ages. Saba is member of the University of Toronto Pedagogy School and a co-founder of LyreIran, a collaborative music education platform focusing on making music education resources more accessible to music students and professionals around the world.
