Mahin+Mohajer

Mahin Mohajer studied traditional Iranian singing with Iran’s foremost female classical vocalist, Parissa, at the Centre for Conservation and Dissemination of Iranian Music, and continued her studies for the following ten years. Given her passion for traditional music, she continued her study of the radif after immigrating to Canada in 1995 and subsequently started to teach. Mrs. Mohajer believes that traditional music, with its deep historical roots, is an integral part of Iranian heritage and it is necessary to learn, understand, and teach it to others. Mrs. Mohajer is a dedicated and encouraging teacher and uses her repertoire of tasnif and Avaz to inspire students of traditional music including the beginner levels.
