Rana Mireskandari (Flute, Piano)
Rana began her musical training in Iran under the guidance of renowned musicians such as Kamal Pourtorab and Majid Sinaki and continued her studies in Canada. She holds a BA in music performance from Laurentian University and MMus in flute performance from the University of Ottawa under the guidance of Camille Churchfield. Rana has collaborated with various community and professional ensembles, such as Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, the North Winds quintet, Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, and as a flute soloist with the Campana Handbell Choir. One of the highlights of her musical training was attending the woodwind session at the Le Domaine Forget in Charlevoix QC, where she participated in masterclasses and received lessons from world’s most renowned flutists and teachers, such as Emmanuel Pahud, Susan Hoeppner and Denis Bluteau. Rana currently enjoys teaching private flute and beginner piano lessons at Sarv Music Academy and working as a freelance musician in the GTA.
